Introducing Dr. Janesri De Silva

Dr. Janesri De Silva, MD, FAAP, is the dedicated and compassionate Founder of the KTMG Foundation and Medical Director of Serendib Healthways and Kids & Teens Medical Group. Since establishing Kids & Teens Medical Group in 2007 in Mission Hills, California, Dr. De Silva has expanded the practice to over 20 locations throughout Southern California, driven by her commitment to improving community health.

Dr. De Silva is a board-certified pediatrician who practices general pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the Kids & Teens Medical Group locations in Arcadia, La Cañada Flintridge, and Pasadena, California. She earned her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from UCLA and completed her medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean. Her medical training includes experiences at USC, Yale-affiliated hospitals, and other hospitals in Maryland and Chicago, followed by a three-year pediatric residency at Kaiser Permanente, Sunset. During her residency, she authored a manual for pediatric interns on patient care.

Her dedication to adolescent medicine continued with a fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), where she also contributed to research on transitioning chronically ill children to adult healthcare. Dr. De Silva has been on staff at Northridge Hospital, Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Tarzana Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital and currently on staff at Huntington Memorial Hospital.

Through the KTMG Foundation, Dr. De Silva aims to reduce access disparities in comprehensive primary care, improve health literacy through education seminars and team interactions, guide parents and young adults in signing up for insurance policies, and mentor medical students and training doctors. She creates opportunities for students to experience the community health needs in underserved areas, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. De Silva is a loving mother of two children. She enjoys practicing yoga, dance, and playing the piano. Her holistic approach to healthcare and her unwavering dedication to the Southern California community make her an inspiring leader and advocate for health and wellness.
