Scenes from the first free clinic day at St. Joseph Hospital, Negombo
The first event held in the spirit of our new partnership was a free clinic day at St Joseph Hospital. The event witnessed a stream of individuals receiving essential medical services, creating a small impact on the local community. Doctors and healthcare professionals offered their expertise, providing crucial screenings, consultations, and treatments to those who may face barriers to regular healthcare access. The success of this initiative underscored the importance of holding free clinics and helping people find medical care overall, inspiring us to expand our outreach further. Looking ahead, we envision a series of free clinic days, each tailored to meet specific healthcare requirements within Negombo and surrounding areas as well as missions to specific communities to bring care to those who may not be able to come to the hospital on their own. These events will not only offer vital medical services but also aim to educate the community about preventive care and healthy living practices. Our commitment extends beyond clinical interventions, as we plan to initiate health education programs, workshops, and collaborations with local organizations to create a holistic healthcare ecosystem. By investing in the well-being of the community, the Kids and Teens Foundation and its partners aspire to leave a lasting legacy of improved health, resilience, and empowerment in Negombo and beyond.
